I purchased a Kitchinaid fridge recently. Since I'm a technically capable home owner, I transported, nstalled and set up the fridge myself. I was impressed with the ease with which the doors come off and how much lighter the fridge was compared with my previous one. Everything operated without an issue, with the only con being that the freezer door does not line up perfectly with the fridge and there was no adjustment that I could discern. Over all, I'm very pleased with the kitchenaid fridge and that I made the right purchase.

Bought this last year because KitchenAid has always been known for quality, excellence and reliability. Upon receiving the appliance, I noticed when the doors were installed, the horrible view in my face of my new fridge! Almost in tears.....The glue had raised the material attached to the top of both doors at the corners edge. Which of course is the very front of the fridge and the first thing you see! Also, no matter how the right door was attached, there was either a 1/2" variance from top to bottom in front or a 1/4" variance from the right side to left between the doors. Also, the produce drawers are pathetic and absolutely will not slide out properly or back into place. It's almost like there's small gravel in the slides of the drawers and they catch the humidity control slide each time you close them. I have changed the water filter and now the water leaks constantly from the filter and the ice maker isn't working. I've cut and bruised my finger twice now just trying to place and change the water filter. I can say that it does run quietly and is a very cold fridge. That is the reason I gave it two stars.

I™€™m disappointed with this refrigerator. Even after carefully leveling it, the unit still vibrates noticeably. It™€™s also quite loud while running, and when the cooling cycle stops, a part inside shakes and creates an entirely different noise. Overall, the constant sounds are frustrating, and I wouldn™€™t purchase this model again.

The delivery company scratched the front of it all up including the handles so we enjoyed it for the short time we had it. There was no replacement available so we had to send it back which was a huge bummer and inconvienvce.

I did my homework and wanted a appliance that of better quality, sadly disappointed. The drawers are very cheaply made and don™€™t slide easily. The handles on the doors are loose . The ice maker doesn™€™t know when to stop and when you slide out the top drawer, where the ice cubes are they fall down the back and all over the place sometimes onto the floor sometimes into areas that you can™€™t reach. Beyond disappointing.

Not what I thought I'd get

This is our 3rd kitchen aid in 9 years. First one stopped cooling after 4 years. A repair man was sent out, he recharged the frig, after 2 days it was room temp again. They replaced the refrig, no charge. The second one made it 5.5 years. Same problem, just stopped cooling again. It was during the holidays, and I didn't have time for a tech to come out, figure out why its not cooling, and then fix it. I would have to pay for visit,$195, then pay for install of the 3 parts that might be broken. I decided to get a new frig. This is the same model as the other 2 before. The delivery men came and removed old one, and omstalled new one in about an hour. After they left, I realized that some parts were missing. The door have a total of 5 holding bins, 3 on one side and 2 on the other side. My firsy 2 refrigs came with inserts in each bin, a soft plastic bottom to the bin. This insert help keep things in the bin from sliding around and collect any liquids that may spill in the bin. The new frig only had one insert. I called the store, they reached out to kitchen aid, I was told they did away with 4 of the inserts. That not what the picture shows on kitchen aids web site. It show the inserts in all 5 bins. What a terrible company to show something and then not put them in. Id say it a scam, bad American company.

I, sadly, own this refrigerator. It has been running in my kitchen for two months. I hate it. It is the noisiest machine I™€™ve ever had the displeasure to come across. The fans run nearly constantly. It will rest silently for maybe 15 minutes before the fans kick in again. Sometimes it sounds like it™€™s preparing to take flight. At other times, runs like a giant deli fridge. KA/Whirlpool customer service siggests that all this noise is ™€œby design™€ it™€™s ™€œenergy efficient™€. This makes no sense as lots of other machines are energy efficient and not close to as noisy as this piece of junk. Do not buy this refrigerator! You do not want this refrigerator. If the noise isn™€™t enough to warn you: the inside is kind of awful. The drawers do not slide smoothly. The shelves are flimsy. Seriously: don™€™t buy this! I don™€™t know what you should buy, but this refrigerator is not it. Because it™€™s truly awful.

Love the new fridge, but....

We like the new fridge very much, its appearance, its ability to keep everything cold, the control panel and the huge amount of space there is inside. All great! Thanks. There are however two design flaws that are annoying. 1. The cheese drawer can not be opened unless both main doors are opened. The lid on the cheese door comes into contact with both the right and left door preventing opening unless both outer doors are opened. 2. Both vegetable drawers can "fall out" when they are being opened if they are not carefully and slowly opened. The "catch mechanism," or the "stop" on the top of each drawer does not adequately engage with the corresponding "stop" on the left and right guide rails. Note: Our previous refrigerator that was also manufactured by Whirlpool has the same vegetable and cheese drawer design and the problems listed in #1. and 2. above did not happen. Other than those two issues the fridge was a good purchase.

Rusting Stainless Steel!!!

I've had these appliances for 6 months and am very unhappy with how the stainless steel is aging. I noticed rust on the surface after cleaning the first time and hoped it was just a fluke. Nope! It's all over the surface of the fridge, especially bad by the handles and it's happening on our KitchenAid range as well. This photo was taken after scrubbing to try to get it off, which improved the appearance slightly, but clearly there's still rust there.

Good for smaller spaces

Great fridge for smaller openings. We were replacing a side-by-side so we™€™re limited in width, and were happy to find that Kitchenaid made one to our specs. Pros, looks very crisp and sharp, and the stainless feels more solid than other fridges we looked at. I like the glass shelves, and the deli drawer. Cons, the water spout being on the side of the fridge with the harder to open/closer door. You need to open both doors to dispense water, or else it™€™s difficult to close the left door only. Also water spout related, the button is up too high from the spout to operate single-handedly™€¦ not always an issue, but something I™€™ve noticed being a drawback from our previous in-door dispenser. Lastly the freezer baskets lack dividers and organizers, making the small freezer even harder to maximize space. The upper shelf/basket is challenging to pull out and doesnt glide as well as I™€™d hoped. All in all though, seems like a good fridge.

Do not buy any fridge from Kitchenaid!!! Ours is just 3 years old and has broke. Kitchenaid says they ran out of the needed part and have to wait for it to come it. It™€™s been over 2 weeks and I have no working fridge and no word about when the part is coming. Most times when I call the customer service number, they either hang up on me, or they lie to me saying someone will call me back and they never do. If I could give zero stars I would!

Not really happy with this refrigerator. It makes a lot of noice and water comes out slowly so you have to stand there with the door open. That™€™s almost as dumb as the ice maker being put in refrigerator section. Only good thing is the ice maker does work well.

This is an awful refrigerator.

Don't buy this refrigerator. I am limited by space in my kitchen and needed a 33" width, 31" depth machine. There are few to choose from. This refrigerator is noisy. It gurgles, whirs, and vibrates. It is overwhelming. This refrigerator has a shelf that doesn't stay in place, seemingly by design. This refrigerator has drawers that don't pull in and out smoothly. The entire thing feels cheap and I do not doubt that my issues with the unit will compound as time passes. Take my advice. Don't buy this refrigerator. You should be able to grant less than 1 star on this website.

So far I am happy with the frig. I'm enjoying the French door setup with bottom freezer. Both sections are quite spacious and well lit considering the smaller size frig. I am not thrilled with the water dispenser, because you need to hold a button down rather than just pushing the glass against a lever, so it would be a one-hand operation.

The light on the right side doesn™€™t come on every time the door opens. It™€™s not a big deal but is a bit annoying. The door to the left also doesn™€™t close all that way. Maybe it™€™s a function of the French doors but I™€™ve had French door fridges before and had no issues with the lights and doors not closing.

Very difficult to slide open and close drawers, Must use twin hands and lift and shift drawers into position to close also believe the bar supporting the front part of drawers is warped because it sags contents of drawer exposed between shelving and plastic bar support. Humidity in bins released in gap. Working on getting this adjusted.

Great for a smaller kitchen.

I downsized from the 29 cu.ft. Samsung Flex Bespoke to this smaller Kitchen Aid unit. PROS: 1) It fits inside the cabinet space, and the Samsung didn't; 2) it's handles, etc, match my Kucht dual fuel ranges anesthetics, 3) each shelf is adjustable, individually, side to side, so although I gave up about 5 cu.ft. of fridge space, it feels as though I have more room due to the flexibility in shelf spacing. 4) It has handles, instead of indented areas for door handles (the indentations collect debris, dirt, etc...nasty).It is very quiet,, cooled down quickly,, and is an absolutely aesthetic beauty. CONS: The interior finishes are unimpressive and 'cheapen' the unit, and the door on the deli drawer comes off its pegs easily.

Less than pleased.

The fridge is working well. The lighting inside the fridge is good. However, the crispers are cheap given the price we paid. The crisper drawers are cheap plastic. They do not run smoothly. They grab and jerk when the vegetables and fruit are in them. The large meat drawer is of better quality and runs smoothly.

We bought this fridge in a hurry as our old fridge died suddenly. Looks great, is very cold, but our one complaint is that it is quite a bit smaller than the one we replaced.

I love my refrigerator . My only complaint is I have had to replace the door gaskets at a very steep price. Shortly after replacing them they started to tear again. Very frustrating. Your next question is would I recommend this product to a friend?? The answer is yes I did and she has had to have the gaskets changed twice already. I think you should look into this expensive issue.

Decent fridge

I bought this a month ago to replace an existing fridge. We were limited as to the size and this fridge matched our double oven. Overall it's nice and works much better than our old fridge. I don't feel like the drawers slide as smoothly as I would expect from a KitchenAid product.

This fridge seems to be running all the time it never stops. The drawers in the fridge do not pull out or push in smoothly they feel like they are sticking or off track.

Loudest fridge ever. Do not buy.

This is the loudest fridge I have ever owned. I hear the loud buzzing from my upstairs. It is terrible. It's like I am in an industrial kitchen. I also notice my milk goes bad by the sell by date. I had someone come check out the fridge, they said it was fine and Kitchenaid would not cover the service. So now after paying $2,000 for a fridge, I am stuck with a bill for service. Never again will I purchase Kitchenaid.
