The refrigerator is quite loud. There is a humming, similar to loud fluorescent lights that continues on and off, so I am assuming when the cooling mechanism (compressor?) kicks in. I have a technician from Kettle Moraine Appliances, where I purchased the unit, scheduled to come out on Wednesday to take a listen.

We bought this fridge 2.5 years ago. The top portion cools poorly, always has been that way, even with their temperature control set as cold as it will go. Now the top portion (the refrigerator part) is room temperature nearly all the time, food is spoiling like it was set on the countertop instead of being refrigerated, but the door's display indicates everything is fine. Inside the fridge is about 60 degrees F. Don't buy one of these, it is a waste of your hard-earned money. My last refrigerator lasted 44+ years before I bought this one, and it was still working when we traded it for this piece of junk, but cosmetic parts were impossible to find for the old one. I wish we'd never traded: now, in retirement, we haven't enough $$ to buy another refrigerator to replace this one.

Like many of the other reviews, I bought this refrigerator in 2021. Yesterday, I woke up to discover the top part of my refrigerator was no longer cooling items and all of my food was spoiled. The worst part is I just went grocery shopping. Whirlpool is definitely aware that this is a defective product because it's now out of stock. In addition, almost EVERY review I've read seems to mention every other consumer experiencing the same issue. With this appliance costing over $1,200, I am extremely disappointed in the experience. I've lost trust in the quality of Whirlpool products.

Not repairable after only two years of use.

Bought this refrigerator in November of 2020 from A.J. Madison online. Finally received it in January of 2021. At 10 months, the ice maker broke and was replaced under warranty. In November of 2023 the defrost function stopped working and the refrigerator was no longer receiving cold air. The temperature inside could not go below 49 degrees. Since it was out of warranty, we were not able to get the Certified Whirlpool appliance repair company to return since they are more than an hour away. Whirlpool was able to convince them to come out finally on 2 January 2024. Their tech said it needed a new temperature sensor and should be back in 10 days to two weeks. Three weeks later I called the Certified Whirlpool appliance repair company (Appliance RX in Rolla, MO) They responded that the part in question was a non-repairable part and that I should contact Whirlpool. The Whirlpool representative I spoke to offered me a 20% discount on a new refrigerator. This has been an extremely disappointing experience. I would not recommend this refrigerator.

What a disappointment!! Still under warranty but no one in my area to service, think that's because the repair people get the runaround and its not worth their time. We have been without a fridge for such a long time now. Whirlpool asked me to find someone to repair which I did . The new part came in and turns out it is the sealed compressor. The appliance repair man I have wont work on that. Called Whirlpool & again I have to locate a repair person, schedule, pay & they will reimburse. Honestly, there customer reps are nice but what a cluster ****. They offered for me to continue to arrange for my own repairs which are covered under warranty or get a 20% off coupon at their online store. Really??? Whirlpool prices are significantly higher than Samsung, GE or LG. Costco offers a 2 year warranty as well. Perhaps Whirlpool has to learn to work better with qualified repair people & their consumers.

This fridge is great, except that if you remove the optional ice-maker, you are left with a gaping hole in the fridge and a waste of space. I've contacted support about this once, and they just sent me the same part I already had. I know the fridge has a clear bin for this, I've seen it in other pictures.

I have had nothing but trouble with this fridge since I bought it. I've had parts replaced, finally got a replacement fridge, and now the fridge has a horrible smell. It's coming from the vent in the back that cools each shelf. There is no way to remove the cover on the vent in the back of the fridge to clean behind it. I have emptied, cleaned, re-cleaned and have put all kinds of deodorizer in the fridge, but it just stinks.

Unfortunately, my renter had to go without a fridge for a month because that's how long it took for them to replace it. I bought this refrigerator around two years ago. Within that time, the sensors for both the refrigerator and freezer sections broke. I was luckily able to replace the sensor for the refrigerator at no cost since the product was still under warranty (< 1 year). However, the freezer sensor is not a replaceable part according to Whirlpool technicians, so I am left with a half-working fridge. Looking at other customer reviews, reliability seems to be a consistent for not only this model, but across all Whirlpool refrigerators. You can also easily look up recent articles about class action lawsuits against Whirlpool for their faulty refrigerators. Do yourself a favor and avoid purchasing Whirlpool - they are clearly selling lemons.

We had this fridge for maybe four months before it stopped cooling the top section. Repair people ordered parts, but they were unavailable during pandemic supposedly, and we waited nearly 6 months for them to come back and install parts. After repair, refrigerator appeared to be working properly again, but is now not cooling the top the same as before. Not a good fridge. 1st breakdown happened within warrantee, but months to repair. Now out of warrentee, so stuck with a piece of junk I need pay to drop at my local dump. This fridge was new model when we bought it, and reviews were good. Hopefully anyone considering buying this model sees all these bad reviews before they waste $1,300. Previous review mentioned there might be a lawsuit ongoing regarding this model. Whirlpool should be sued if they™™re still producing this refrigerator. Horrible product.

I bought this 3/21/21 The top quit getting cool and the bottom was completely frozen up. It was still under warranty and people came told me the seal was bad and used a heat gun to ™loosen™ it up.it continued after I defrosted it lost all my food and as of 4/23 is not working at all. Found out there was a class action lawsuit for this problem and they are still selling it. I™™m out $1200 . Called whirlpool again parts unavailable and there is nothing they can do but offer $300 towards something that size on their website which is unavailable as well . Can™™t be fixed no parts

I bought this model in December 2020 and in August 2022, it stopped cooling. Same story as many of the other reviews here. I got it fixed but last week, it stopped cooling again and my repair person said it was the same issue - the control board part. Now, we can't buy the part to fix it again because Whirlpool doesn't make it anymore. How are you selling this model still if we can't buy the parts to repair a persistent issue? This refrigerator keeps everything cold appropriately and has good accessibility but the hinge on the bottom of the refrigerator door scrapes on top of the freezer door. It is audible. We have had a repairman come fix it. The problem was good for a couple of weeks but it has gone back to the way it was. We™™ll have to call for another repair.

We thought this was the perfect solution. We were sorely mistaken. We got the fridge in April of 2022. By August 2022, the fridge began making a weird buzzing sound. Shortly thereafter, everything inside was lukewarm. Because the fridge is still under the manufacturer™™s warranty, we were advised by Lowe™™s (where we purchased the fridge) to go through Whirlpool to address the problem. We went onto the whirlpool website and were connected to the authorized Whirlpool repair service in our area. Since August, we have been waiting for them to repair our fridge. On the first service call, the technician informed us that the compressor was the issue as well as something regarding the control panel on the front of the refrigerator door. We were told they would order the compressor and follow up with a second service call when the compressor arrived™" that took several weeks! On the second service call, (supposedly to repair the compressor) the technician informed us that soldering was needed to complete the job™" so a different technician would need to be called. During a third service call, the soldering was completed and even though it was making a (different) strange sound, the fridge worked™" FOR 3 WEEKS, and then it broke down again. In December I reached out to Whirlpool customer service a second time with great frustration. I asked why if the refrigerator had broken down a second time and still under warranty, Whirlpool was not replacing it. Whirlpool informed me that the repair service would need to declare the appliance irreparable before discussing a replacement. On the fourth service call the technician again informed us that we needed a new compressor. But what he meant was that the compressor was never replaced in the first place. The technician said he would order the compressor so that on the next service call the broken compressor could be replaced. We had an appointment scheduled for Wednesday January 11. That morning, the repair service called to cancel saying the technician called in sick. I think what really happened is that the compressor hadn™™t arrived. So now we are waiting for a FIFTH SERVICE CALL™" almost 5 months since the fridge broke down. When I spoke with Whirlpool customer service they offered us a loyalty/40 percent discount on the purchase of another Whirlpool appliance(on the whirlpool website). But we™™ve been disappointed to see that it™™s really only an additional 20 percent off if the appliances are on sale (all of them are on sale). We believe that if Whirlpool really wanted to do the right thing they would replace the refrigerator or refund our money. As far as we™™re concerned, Whirlpool has taken $1300+ of our money and has given us nothing in exchange. That is not a sale. THAT IS THEFT. My husband and I are now looking at contacting Consumer Protection Services.

Terrible Customer Service

Received this refrigerator in August of 2022 and it stopped cooling in November of 2022. We called Whirlpool and in December a service technician came out and told us the compressor was broken and needed replacement. He informed us he would contact Whirlpool to tell them the issue and we could expect a response from then. After 2 weeks with no word from Whirlpool we reached and and requested a follow up. They told us they would find a technician that had the tools to fix the compressor and will follow up with a service date. We then got an email from Whirlpool saying they did not find a technician in our area and we would have to find one ourselves. They did offer to reimburse us up to $300 for the service call and cover the cost of replacement parts but we have to spend our time finding a technician. Each time we have contacted Whirlpool it has taken 30 to 60 minutes to get someone on the phone and then we have to wait 7 to 10 business days for an update. We have now been unable to use our refrigerator for over 2 months.

Horrible appliance

Compressor died right at the end of 1 year warranty. It took over 2 weeks to get it repaired by a Whirlpool authorized repair facility. Now it™™s 3 months later and the unit keeps freezing up and has caused considerable damage to cabinets and floor. Was told by the repair company Lake appliance repair that they don™™t warranty their repair work and to contact Whirlpool. Whirlpool then told me the unit was out of warranty and they would offer a 1 time repair for good will. But it will be over a month before they can get a technician out to look at it. What a bunch of BS, I will never buy a Whirlpool appliance again!

Love the small size, appearance minimal and sleek. interiors have so much flexibility with adjustable shelves and bins. Perfect for this new empty nester! ice maker is a bit loud and would be nice if there were better glides in the freezer drawers. would love a water dispenser, but I knew there wasn't one when I bought it - suggestion for future model.

Disappointed On All Fronts

Love the look, but everything else has been a terrible experience. Stopped cooling in less than 2 months of use. Unfortunately we were away where all the contents in the fridge and freezer had to be disposed of at a considerable expense. In fact, they could offer the 4 year extended warranty for free and that would only cover a fraction of what was lost. Registered the product and proceeded to book a service call which required the process be performed twice. Once that was finally complete and the "Book Service" link was initiated, "Site In under Maintenance" would display. After hours of going through the process, I broke down and phoned Whirlpool direct which was very time consuming. Once again had to go through all the information again and was told a new compressor was needed. I was informed the service company would bring the compressor at no charge including labor. A few days later the service company showed up with no parts, and was told it was to diagnose the product only and my charge would be $140. After sorting out the fridge is under warranty, I was told it was in fact the compressor which would take approximately 2 additional weeks to repair. If there was an option to provide a 0 star, it would have had a 0.

I love the look, size and functionality of this refrigerator - but it stopped cooling after 4 months of use. Because it™™s a new model it was a challenge to find a company that was qualified to come service it. Whirlpool found a company for me but they weren™™t available to come until next Monday. It will have been a month. Not a great experience.

Bought it in June 2022- repaired in August. 2nd repair coming in October 2022. Refrigerator temp never gets lower than 60 F. Freezer section freezes up and has to be manually defrosted. It's a SH--ty piece of equipment. I want it out of my kitchen. It's 60 F now, beginning to stink and the repair people cannot fix it again for 2 more weeks!!!
