Only had this dishwasher for about a month, but so far it's been great! We run it daily, occasionally twice a day. Busy household with kids. Our last dishwasher was a Bosch and it lasted more than 12 years. Install tech said it was unlikely, but we will see how long this one lasts. This one has 3 racks (top for silverware/utensils). The racks are much improved over the old one. It's incredibly quiet, and cleans well. I can only hope it lasts as long as the last one. As with any Bosch dishwasher, I suspect you have to keep up with using the rinse aid every wash, and manually cleaning the filter every month or so. I think that is most dishwashers now, though.
Only complaint is long wash cycles when you use sanitize, it adds almost an hour to the cycle, compared to the old dishwasher. I do feel like it's cleaning everything better, so that may be the trade off.

This dishwasher is very quiet. The improvements needed are with the bottom rack. It easily comes off the "track" when it is pulled out to put dishes into the rear portion. The utensil/tableware baskets are too light and easily fallover, when they are removed to unload. On the upper rack, I wish that the folding cup rack could be removed. We use only larger coffee mugs.

We have only had the Bosch 500 Series Dishwasher for about two weeks. My wife and I really like the quietness of this machine compared with our previous Kenmore dischwashers. Once we got use to the rack layout and flexibility, we find loading and unloading the machine straight forward. The dishes come out very clean and dry. If I could get my wife out of the habit of almost prewashing the dishes, I am sure she would appreciate the machine even more. Unlike our previous dishwashers, you have to set the cycles while the door is open not closed. I bought a Bosch dishwasher because of its reliability and custormer satisfaction ratings.

Pros: Very quiet, cleans well and dries well (even our plastic bowl lids). Neutral: The design of the cutlery holder is such that it doesn't work for knives. They need to go on the top (third) rack. Works fine. We then only use one of the two cutlery holders. Cons: Design of the lower and middle racks isn't very friendly to maximizing what we can load. Therefore, we fit less in this unit than we did in our old (different brand) dishwasher. The racks also seem more delicate and we're hoping they will hold up well over the years.

The outside of the black dishwasher looks nice. We are getting use to the racks and no heating elements for drying. So there is a wait time. We had a technician came out because the rinse dispenser does not work. We are still waiting for the part. Also some powder soap was still left in the dispenser. Seems to be a fine machine. I wish that we were not waiting for a part.

Pros:
- Quiet
- Cleans well
- Does not melt or otherwise harm plastic items
Cons:
- Does not dry as well as dishwashers with internal heating element. I personally have grown to like this tradeoff as I don't have to worry about anything plastic I put in there. Basically if you can load an item with so that water does not pool up, it will come out dry. Otherwise there may be a small amount of remaining water that did not dry.
- Bottom rack does not roll very easily and can be pulled off track. This is annoying.
Learning Curve: Loading the racks is a little strange as they are very different than our last dishwasher (2006 whirlpool). The racks are very flexible with some of the tines being able to fold-down to adjust to your particular dishes. But the spacing between tines and angling of the racks are very different than last dishwasher. That said, we are trying to learn how to load this thing efficiently. The racks seem to be designed so you can angle your dishware and the water will run-off to aid in drying. Just need to figure out how to load it "the best way" with our dishes. This is not a deal-breaker for me, just something to be aware of that you may notice in other reviews.
In case you're wondering, I set the default so the door will pop open at end of cycle and let dishes air-dry. This does help to dry things better. So far we are happy with this purchase after a couple months.

LOVE this dishwasher. Granted we suffered for 2 years with a Samsung (will never buy again) but the Bosch is the best we've ever owned over 40 years. We no longer wash dishes before putting them in the washer. Baked on food, whether on plates, pans, or spatulas it cleans them completely. Glasses sparkle and are dry. Top (third rack) silverware all clean, the Sam was so bad at it that we removed the top rack completely. The Sam, rated 48db was so noisy we couldn't hear the TV in adjacent LR. This Bosch, rated 44db, is so quiet we often check the red floor light to verify that we remembered to run it. Dishwasher heaven, seriously.

The 2021 model dishwasher does not dry as well as our old 2003 model Bosch. Especially the flat items on the very top tray do not dry. Also, the cleaning does not see to be as thorough, although that could be a learning curve in stacking the dishes. The old model was excellent which is why we bought another Bosch. On the plus side, it's VERY quiet.

This is the best dishwasher I have ever had. It is so quiet! A red light shines on the floor when it's running. Without that light you'd never know it was running. It does an excellent job of cleaning and drying. Glasses come out crystal clear. It has so many programmable features- open door when cycle completes, extra dry, auto off, and many more. I can't say enough about what an excellent product this Bosch 500 is! Totally worth $999. Highly recommend! Oh and super sleek looking!

After years of dissatisfaction with my dishwasher, it's a relief to finally have an appliance that doesn't need dishes prewashed and placed perfectly (and still come back out with schmutz in the glasses). I've already made great use of the flexible configurations to squeeze in awkward pots and bowls. My cassarole dishes AND my champaign flutes come out sparking clean. I love the space saving of the cultery tray, and it's ridiculously quiet. The 500 had all of the features I wanted without being overkill, so I really appreciate this Mama Bear version - thanks for crafting a great solution!

Overall, I'm pleased with how well this unit performs. It is very quiet, cleans well, and dries well (I've only used the Auto Air option). However, at this price point, I expect more than just 'good at the basics'. There are a few annoyances that need to be addressed:
1) Turning on Auto Air automatically adds a drying cycle. There is no option to pop the door open at the end of any wash, without adding the drying cycle (which adds about 50 minutes to the run time). It seems like a simple software update, so it's pretty disappointing that there's not more control over it.
2) The pictures on the product page show a silverware basket that can be separated, but the basket I received is one piece. Why isn't the 'upgraded' basket standard, especially in a $1000 dishwasher with a 3rd rack?
3) All these rack adjustments, and there's still no good way to load soup/cereal bowls besides laying them face down. The loading instructions in the manual don't even picture them.

We purchased a house with appliances included. From the start, it was clear we needed a new dishwasher. Although new approximately three years before we purchased the house, the dishwasher included with the home no longer worked properly. It worked fully at one time, and it worked in one quarter of the dishwasher when we started using it. We searched for months to find a dishwasher to replace ours, and we love the Bosch 500. It took a bit to get used to the third/top rack, but now we appreciate it. Our favorite feature is the autoair that opens the door when the cycle is done.

Issues with buttons within the first week. Issues still exist with the buttons sticking and/or getting jambed sideways, hard to press and activate. Auto-air stopped working a couple months in, won't even allow us to activate it half the time. Sometimes it still works...no rhyme or reason as to why. E24 error has been nonstop issue for last 4 months, becoming more and more of an issues. Seems to run through multiple cycles fine and then presents the error...clean, inspect, pull out to check pipes, etc....nothing in way or obstructing and it still presents error...wait a while and try again and runs through entire cylce with no issues...then next cycle...and then randomly triggers another error even though dishwasher was empty! This thing is junk. Less than 1 year old and pretty much everything on it doesn't work or is an issue. Last one we owned was the cheapest model of another brand and it lasted 10 years without a single issue.....this was 3x more expensive than that and we are on our 3rd issue in less than a year. Ohh and we have 4 kids and lots of dishes so needless to say this has been a nightmare purchase. Love their powertools but they should get out of the home appliance business.

We are very pleased with the dishwasher so far (2 months). We were a bit apprehensive given its price compared to other brands but it has proven its worth to us. It is orders of magnitude quieter than our previous diswhasher (at least 10 yrs old). We no longer need to turn up the TV to drown out the noise. In fact the TV at normal completely hides the new one's sound. And it seems to clean the dishes better as well. Our previous dushwasher did a pretty good cleaning job but this Bosch gets things clean the old one never could.

Not only is my dishwasher good looking, it's very quiet and excellent at cleaning my dishes! I love that I can see the red dot on the floor to know that it's running. The delay start, 3rd rack on top along with the adjustable middle rack are features I love. And did I mention that it's good looking?

We're very happy with our Bosch dishwasher. This is our second Bosch. It is quite a bit quieter than the other one and I thought that it was quiet. The indicator light at the bottom to tell you that it is on is okay. We would prefer to have all of the instruments on the outside rather than hidden inside. I know that it was a design feature for streamlining and looks. For us, however, it seems unnecessary, and we would prefer to have all of the buttons on the outside. It's a tiny issue, however. We love the upper top rack! It's perfect for large utensils and other awkward items. When we had to replace our Bosch dishwasher, we only considered replacing it with a Bosch. We were bummed that our dishwasher was beyond repair since it had outlived parts being made for it. That did speak to the longevity of our dishwasher, which also factored into our decision to purchase another Bosch dishwasher. We're super happy with the dishwasher and website. It provides excellent information.

I've had my 500 series for a couple of months now. I do like it. Everything comes out clean and the glasses are so shiney. I like the silverware tray at the top. I have the Flex Tray that drops down on the sides, but it doesn't make much difference, the amount that it drops is about 1 inch. I need to see if it is possible to lower that tray. I put small ramekins and cat food dishes in it but they still hit the top. I'd say something no taller than a 5.5oz cat food can (that's the regular can that most people buy) fits in the flex tray with the sides lowered. Other than that I didn't like the rack designs when I first got it. I'd had an LG for about 15 years and was so used to it. I had to change my thinking about where to put the dishes and glasses. At first I tried putting glasses on the outside edges (like I did with the LG) and it did not hold glasses tightly and they fell over an rattled around. So I tried the center and that's where they fit perfectly. That being said Bosch does send some images of how to best load the dishwasher, but I didn't go back and look.......that would be too logical. lol So I'm still figuring out best way to load. I'm not sure if this dishwasher holds as much as my old LG did, but I have it, it works and the dishes get clean. I love the option of the door popping open once the drying cycle is finished. Oh also I did lots of research on the drying complaints in reviews becuase I have lots of plasticware.I usually start the dishwasher in the morning before work or at night. The door pops open and everything is dry when I go to unload. Maybe a few drops here and there, but nothing major. I took out the silverware basket and lay serving utentils on the flex rack. That gives me more room for reusuable plastic containers, which never fit well in a dishwasher.
Noise Level: It is quiet, but it seems loud when it is draining into the pipes unde the sink. I hear the noise through the sink drain, so I'm thinking it is my pipe configuration or something like that and not the dishwasher. The washing and rinsing noise within the dishwasher is quiet.
So Overall I would reccommend, my favorite thing is that the door pops open for evaporation after the cycle is complete.

the middle rack shape means that glasses and cups are hard to position so they stay upside down during wash cycle. also, gaps in middle drawer allow jar lids to fall through.

All in all I give this model a 4-star rating. I am happy with all functions ONCE I read the instructions and understood how to use it and reprogram some features. I especially like the options for loading including the movable shelves and the upper shelf for silverware.
My only issue is that I don't know when the wash will be done, unless I take the time to note the hh:mm of the cycle I chose and calculate the finish time.
I do have one question. Does my model give me the warning when I need to add a rinse product?

This is what we needed - a quiet dishwasher that gets the job done. What we didn't know we needed? The little drawer rack at the very top & (omg) the light that tells us when it's running (brilliant!). We're very happy with this dishwasher.

Both my husband and myself are blind. THis unit has tactile buttons, each assigned its own function, inside the door. It did loose a star because some functions are in menus that aren't accessible.

I had my Bosch dishwasher installed a couple months and I'm extremely pleased with it. So quiet. Does an amazing job washing the plates, silverware, glasses and utensils. Love the adjusting shelf. There is nothing I'd change about it.

This is a good looking, well-built, and efficient dishwasher. So quiet you hardly know it's on. Luckily, there's a handy red indicator light to let you know it's working. Dishes come out clean and spotless. I couldn't be happier with it.
