Broken ice maker

This review is regarding my extended warranty I purchased for my refrigerator. My in door ice maker has been broken for over a month. Dealing with the people obviously not in the US has been a nightmare Numerous alls 2 repair visits its still not working. Im stuck between the local repairman and LG. They need to get it together. I paid good money for the coverage and LG is not fulfilling their part of the deal. I will NEVER purchase another LG product and have to deal with these people on the other side of the planet LG you should be ashamed of the poor customer support/service.

Get the warranty. We bought ours in 2023 and unfortunately in 2026 the cost to fix it cost just as much as a new one so i stress again get the warranty and extend it if possible.

One issue

I bought the fridge for the size and the craft ice feature. The size has worked out excellent for my large family. The craft ice however has been an issue. First time the ice maker started to make horrible noises and stopped working the fridge notified me and started the LG replacement procedure for the icemaker. It went well and was replaced. A year later it happened again and I am still waiting on a replacement.

Craft ice maker problems

Craft ice maker problems 6/6/2026

Like the refrigerator but craft ice maker stopped working 3 months after we bought it. We were sent a replacement and that one worked for about 5 months and stopped. I called 4 times for a replacement and each time told it was being sent and I still havent received it. Last time talked with Villy who told me a manager would call me and they never did. Dissappointed to say the least

Great design but Lacking in Quality

Purchased this Refrigerator May 13 2021. Best features and and functional Design you could ever ask for. The door through door holds constant use items so you dont have to keep opening the main doors. The middle drawer for beverages keeps thing organized and at hand. Its large and spacious inside. Especially since the Ice maker is in the door and not taking up shelf room like the Frigidaire Gallery we had before it.. The second Ice Machine came in handy several times but really isnt that useful. until the main Ice maker quit working. The Frig hooks up to the wireless but since I really dont have a lot to say to to the Frig Ive never used that feature. Thats were it stops. After two years the Frig had to have the lower coil replaced. After three the compressor a second time since they replaced it once already when they replaced the lower condenser coil. Ice machine was trouble. I removed it after it quit making ice and clean it up. sensor and wires and reinstalled. It started working again both times. It stopped making ice a third time but it started working again after I changed the water filter. So maybe a water pressure problem to the ice maker Fast forward May 20th 2026 Freezer wont freeze and the fridge wont maintain a set temp. Pretty much the same symptoms as the first time it broke Except this time the warranty is out by 1 week on the sealed portion of the Frig. 5yrs. We loved the design so much were buying a new one like this. Repair man called it a covid built frig. quality control and worker shortages along with parts shortages. Hopefully the Quality has improved in 5 years or its LAST Chance LG. Oh and for those who wondered it took over 2 months to get parts and a repair man to show up. TWICE. We had to buy a small Dorm type frig to hold us over due to lengthy time to get parts and service. Currently using the small one again waiting on the new Refrigerator to be delivered. To be Fair parts and service was just as bad when I had to have Moms Frigidaire Frig fixed.

Dont purchase unless you want a new fridge every 2 years. I would give it zero stars but thats not an option. Bought the fridge 2/24. Woke up mothers day and it had no power. Called LG for service they charged me $450 for the service call everything will be included to fix it. Well the tech came out changed out the board still doesnt work. He calls tech support - they tell him what to check and they cant stay on the line because they have phone limits. He unplugs every part individually it still wont stay on. He says its internal wiring. LG says too bad its out of warranty. I bought an expensive fridge - it should last longer than 2 years. Dont buy this fridge if you want something that will last. Dont buy an LG if you want support and a company that cares about your business. Im out $450 for a bogus service call and I have to buy a new fridge. It wont be an LG.

really like the water and ice in the door feature

so far it is keeping cold. the freezer space is cut down with the extra ice makerif i leave it off and use the extra room i am in fear that the ice may not start working again. i really like itbut it might not start working if it is left off to long. so i have been informed by LG. The water filter assembly could be improved. mine broke and had to be replaced right after the purchase Sometimes when replacing the filter the bypass switch wont shut and then it sprays water inside the refrigerator .

DONT BUY- ice maker door slams terribly - LG sucks

DO NOT BUY This fridge was not built correctly and the left ice maker door slams so incredibly hard it knocks over items inside of our fridge and makes a huge crashing noise. This fridge is brand new and our family cannot stand it and will never buy another LG product based on their lack of cuts service. LG refuses to do anything about it and insists that this is just a known issue with the product. DONT BUY IT- LG wont do anything even if its under warranty.

3500$ 5 years later the compressor went out and the cost to fix it with nothing more than a 90 day guarantee was close to the cost of buying another refrigerator so thats what i ended up doing. Hope none of my other lg products end up being this bad..

Bought the fridge about 2 years ago. Ice maker stopped working then compressor stopped working. After 3 weeks LG sent a tech out to repair the unit but the replacement part LG sent was defective. I lost $2000 worth of food was out of a fridge for 2 months and had to purchase a replacement fridge just to keep food in the house. All LG had to offer was $350 food reimbursement which is insulting for the amount of hassle and inconvenience.

BEWARE OF CRAFT ICE

We do not own this product but purchased a predecessor craft ice LG refrigerator. Every six months our craft ice failed. For a time LG repaired the craft ice maker - first by sending someone to fix it but eventually just sending a replacement ice maker. After the 6th or so replacement LG decided the product was out warranty. Watch out for LGs craft ice and bad support.

This is a very nice fridge when it works. My only complaint about the design would be that the black stainless isnt magnetic. However.... Its really problematic about maintaining temperature. We bought it in 2021 after our previous 3 month old LG failed and Best Buy gave us full credit towards a replacement. Within 2 years we had to have the compressor replaced because it wasnt cooling properly drifted up above 50 degrees and up to freezing in the freezer. After replacement of the compressor this fridge cooled again and made ice but the freezer rarely would get below 5 or 8 degrees even if set to -2 or lower. Fast forward to 2025 and it now isnt cooling properly again 15 degrees in the freezer and 45-50+ in the refrigerator set to 34 even after being closed overnight with IcePlus on. All vents and fins vacuumed proper clearances etc. And yes theres a 10 year warranty on the compressor .... but now you have to agree to a $450 all inclusive repair cost to even have them come out to look at it. I asked what the cost would be if it is in fact the compressor and I didnt do the all-inclusive repair fee and was told there was no option other than the all-inclusive. For the first repair it may have been Best Buy covering it under extended warranty. So Im confused what use the 10-year warranty on the compressor is... maybe it kicks in to cover parts if I were to bring in my own appliance repair person? This is the 4th LG fridge weve had problems with. One kept icing up the bottom of the freezer some drain line clogged with ice I think. One that was delivered non-functional. One that failed in 3 months. And now this one.

So disappointed. After just over a year the fridge screen started glitching and we couldnt get water or ice. Once replaced by repair man the entire fridge stopped working. Its been two months and many vistes by the repair man he has replaced multiple parts over and over and it still dosnt work and LG has no answers to help us. I will update this review if they give us a new one.

I bought my LG in 2022. W/I the first year we had to replace the ice maker. Now 2 years in we are having issues with the ice makers as well as the LG screen does not work. Displays 15 E. Have had 1 repair man out and now 2 weeks later the issue has not been taken care off.

I bought this April 18 2023 and by August 2024 just past the warranty the craft ice maker needed to be replaced. Also the control panel needs to be replaced. It took me quite awhile to hook the refrigerator to the app and the people that brought it to my house took the freezer handle off to get it through the front door and the handle never worked properly until then.

I purchased this Fridge at the end of 2017 this Fridge quit cooling food in the Fridge and Freezer. When we called the repair shop because the 5 year warranty is up. The repair shop said LG has a lot of issues and that the cost of labor would be expensive and the repairs may only last another 6 months. Repair shop told us to put the money towards a new fridge. When the Fridge is only 6 years old. Im beyond Frustrated

The compressor went on our 2-year-old unit. Even with the extended warranty there has been no luck as the service tech is unable to get a replacement compressor anywhere in the US. What good is the warranty if there are no replacement parts??

This refrigerator has been trouble from the beginning. Both ice makers have been replaced evaporator and condensers have died also. Worst part has been trying to get a promised food replacement check 2 months and still being put off.

Craft ice maker broke. LG sends technician replaced ice maker. Ice maker breaks again LG sends another technician. Technicians says cant fix the plug from fridge to ice maker is damaged and is not repairable. Called customer service and they explained the part is damaged. Not by anyone but LG technicians and they wont cover to replace fridge. No one can fix the issue and LG not taking responsibility. $3k wasted. Never ever will I buy any LG product.

I bought this refrigerator from Home Depot June 13 2024. It has not worked since entering my home. We waited the 48hours suggested by delivery logistics company and it did not work after eating that time. We have had 3 repair services and the last one the repairman sent by LG could not figure out how to get the parts into the refrigerators sealed compartments.

This freezer stopped producing our 6 per day round ice just after our warranty was up. Now we are getting error codes as well as slow ice production up top too. We are lucky to get 2 round ice cubes a day. Now our freezer is making a whining noise. We also get a FFE code that shows on the screen. So upset that we spent this much money for it to not even last 2 years. We thought buying a LG appliance was a smart move. Smh Poor quality at an expensive price.

We really love our refrigerator -- The downside is that we had the fan replaced 2x the ice maker 1x the compressor 2 times within the first year - Make sure you take full advantage of the mfgr warranty - we had to call and schedule a repair person to come out and fix it - this took time but the new compressor has its own long warranty I think it is 10 years?? Make sure you dont over stuff the freezer and keep the doors/drawers closed. If it is in a cabinet enclosure - pull out the refrigerator to clean the vents regularly. We put in an open vent on the outside of the cabinet to help with the air flow. We havent had any issues other than the air vent getting clogged with dust and pet hair It is truly an awesome fridge as long as the compressor and fans work or get them replaced ASAP.

Great Features Terrible Reliability/Service Costs

We purchased this model new in 2021 for a new home along whit a whole suite of LG appliances. I would compare the fridge to a 1960s British sportscar....the best driving experience ever but ridiculously expensive to keep on the road and poor service. The fridge has all the options you could want and plenty of space for all our food/drink. We had our first unit for around 2 years when the compressor quit. Had to have service guy out 3 times empty fridge every time before LG would replace fridge even though they were aware of compressor issues with our model. Finally paid for a replacement fridge but prorated the payment which ended up costing us approx $840 for the exact same unit that had just quit. Now we had the ice maker fan bearing fail at 14 months on the new unit and LG is charging us $400 for a 30 minute repair and a $140 replacement part. While we love the fridge when it runs hence the 2 stars I cant recommend it when its cost us approx $1250 in service calls in 4 years.

I bought my LG Fridge a few months ago. I was so excited only to find out the delivery people werent comfortable delivering it up 1 step to get in my house. 1 of the drivers said she wasnt strong enough so it sat in my garage for a couple weeks till they could get 2 other people out. As for the fridge itself my excitement has changed to disappointment. The craft ice maker stopped working wet quickly. I called to get help and warranty work to fix the problem only to have the agent hang up on me because they dont have a service technician in my area. I then started having an error code on the front display EE. F. I was unable to connect it to my phone through the link. So I called back customer service and they told me its a circulation error and they will fix it when they come out to fix the other issue. Well Ive now called several times over the last couple months with no help. They keep telling me they have no service technician in my area they will call me back. So for MONTHS Ive had no craft ice from the freezer or ice or water through the door. I do like the fact that the middle draw can be freezer or fridge. I really dont have much to say right now due to my frustration or paying thousands of dollars and not being able to use every feature.

I bought the refrigerator during the pandemic two years ago We waited three months to get the fridge raider because they didnt have any in stock and we had it for two years This year it had broken already.. Lucky we had insurance they did come out and fix it but we had lost a lot of food and they dont deduct all the food that I have lost.. They only cover $300
