We have a couple of LG appliances and have been very happy with them so we decided to get the LG air conditioner. We absolutely LOVE it. It is so quiet that we have no more sleepless nights and ringing ears. LG is now my appliance of choice.

This unit performs as expected with one exception. The mode selection failed to work properly on two occasions thus far. I had to shut the unit down for a few minutes each time to get it to change functions. This is disappointing on such a new unit.

Overall it is a very good A/C for the price. It is runs quieter and it cools faster than other similarly priced 6000 btu units. There are a few negatives that should be improved: the plastic vents tend to rattle a lot unless they are positioned just right and the cord is so short that I need to use an extension.

This AC had been a lifesaver for my room at night. It is able to keep my room nice and cool on those hot nights. I will say its a bit loud when the ac kicks on which can take a bit to get used to when youre sleeping. There are also a few plastic parts like the vent and filter that rattle a bit too much. To fix this I took some of the foam that came in the kit and put it under the vent which stopped the vent fins from rattling. If you can get over the slight noise this a a great buy.

Awesome cooling for a small unit

We bought this unit to replace a 15 year old 8000 BTU unit from a different manufacturer. Although we were downsizing the unit in terms of BTUs we were hopefully that the performance of this unit would work adequately based on our experience with other LG ACs. We have owned the unit for a month and although we have only had a few really hot days the units performance is excellent. It adequately cools the bedroom where it is installed and the energy saver feature is awesome. It does a tremendous job maintaining a steady temperature in the room. It also has a Dry mode which turns the unit into a dehumidifier and still cools the room. We are very pleased with the unit and would buy another one if necessary.

Its the same amount of BTUs that we had before so it shouldve cooled the room sufficiently as the last one dead. It does not The room doesnt get half as cool as the old one got it.Very disappointing.

Likes: Appealing to the eye for a window ac unit. On board digital control panel neatly positioned. Cooling energy saver fan speed dry seem to work as intended so far. Has 4 way adjustable air direction. Most only have 2. Has remote havent used as ac and chair are only feet apart. Dislikes: Much louder than expected especially when compressor is running. Cycling on every 3 minutes in energy saving mode is annoying beyond words. Makes it impossible for me to sleep with it in that mode. Maybe you could :- The black lever to adjust from recirculated to fresh air and vice versa is worthless. You can see the adjustable flap through the adjustable air directional vents. Pulling the lever out is supposed to open the flap to allow fresh air in which it does. Pushing lever in is supposed to keep fresh air out only recirculate the air in the room. This does not work as intended at least not on mine. You can clearly see outdoor light pretty much all around the flap when its closed allowing fresh hot humid air in when you want to jeep it out and recirculate the cool air already in the room. Design flaw in my opinion. Relatively short cord. All acs Ive had previously definitely had longer cords. The swishing whatever word you prefer where water accumulates in the tray is annoying as well. Never had this issue with any previous window units but manual says this is normal with this unit. Im guessing it has to do with a special type fan this ac has which others dont. I assume its designed to assist with the cooling. Hope this review helps if you are considering this unit.

I bought this thru Amazon this past spring. I have two previously bought 600BTU window air conditioners. They cant hold a candle to this LG. I have a kitchen/living room open living area and this LG cools them both so well we have to many times turn in up to warmer. I noticed the difference even before I installed the LG. The LG is about 20 pounds heavier and the installation kit makes it a much more thorough fit. Best room air conditioner we have ever owned

Got this in time for the HOT summer. AC has lots of options and comes with remote control. After using for about 2 months the Clean Filter reminder light came on. We rinsed the mostly clean filter and removes a leaf found lodged in a slat on the top of the unit outside the window. Note to reset and turn off the light just press the Temp up and down buttons simultaneously. Even after going with the lower BTU unit it was still heavier than my old AC but it did a great job of cooling the slightly larger than recommended bedroom.

Feature Rich Unit - 2nd Purchase

I approved of the first model I bought in 2020 so much I bought a second unit this year 2021. The Energy Saver feature is great because it turns the unit off when the temperature of the rooms is reached. There is a lighted signal that comes on every 2 weeks to remind you to check the intake filter and clean if necessary. Remote control is really nice to have especially in the bedroom when it gets a little too cool in the middle of the night. Both units do make a slight bubbling noise when they restart but its just a function of the fan using some of the condensation water to cool the compressor. My 2 6000 btu units cool a 750 square foot efficiency apartment. Electric bills are very reasonable even with the higher TVA rates charged during the summer months.

Bought this are conditioner and it arrived in the middle of hazy/hot/humid days. This replaces another brand that was noisy and kept us awake. But THIS LG is super quiet just as Consumer Reports says. Its even quiet in power saving mode where it turns on and off. I also like that I have more control of the direction of the air vents . We have found the TV to be an easy set up and after a few adjustments the picture quality is very good. The 55 inch size is just right for our room as we sit about 12 feet from the unit. Sound quality is fine but if you want really good sound add a sound bar

Incorrect parts and bad side panels

The side panels are impossible to attach correctly. For one the screws that they give are too big. Then youre supposed to screw them in a place that you cant even fit a small screw driver into.

Questionable Efficiency Quirk

Once I determined that the mounting instructions were for wooden windows it installed quickly. I removed the plug that held water so that the cooling fan could swirl the built-up water on the inside to promote cooling. Putting whats inside water all over the AC unit is a problem that I can do without.

Energy Mode Deafening squeal out of the box

Weve had this AC for a week and two complaints so far. First energy saver mode is useless as it makes an awful squeal noise. Second the WiFi connection constantly drops despite having good to strong connectivity.
